When the student who had prepared to preach our college and career Sunday service had to cancel due to a combination of tonsillitis and strep throat two hours before the service, I had to quickly adapt a recent youth sermon to the new audience.

Over the course of two weeks at one of my Doctor of Ministry seminars, our professors sought to bring the book of Mark to life. This sermon was largely inspired by some of the hours in that study.

I consider the story of the woman at the well to be one of the most profound examples of evangelism in the Bible. As such, I try to revisit this story periodically.

When it came time to vote on a building project, the responsibility of preaching fell to me. In a different situation, perhaps I would have urged the congregation in a particular direction. In this case, I felt my role was to help us move forward together, whether or not we built.

This sermon took place the Sunday after FBC Atlanta's pastor of 35 years retired. It is designed to set the tone for the new season of church life.

In effort to breath new life into a common passage of scripture, this sermon explores what the lives of lepers Jesus healed might have been like.

As the pinnacle of a youth discipleship weekend, this sermon visits the Abraham in the near sacrifice of Isaac. It is a bit more relaxed than some of the other sermons posted.

This sermon took place soon after earthquakes devastated Haiti.

For months I had been slated to preach because the pastor would be out of town. He intended to announce his retirement the following week, but was forced to change his schedule at the last moment. That left me as the first person in the pulpit after his announcement. This video demonstrates how I handled it.

Giant Balloon

Balloon sculpture has been a hobby of mine for over a decade. One of my favorite tricks is to climb inside a giant balloon. This video was filmed at a seminary variety several years ago.
